Two things to do this week
- Buy travel insuranceIt’s required for the trip, and buying it now means your cover starts now — not the week before you fly. Compare travel insurance plans here (an affiliate link).
- Check your passportMake sure it’s valid for your whole stay. US citizens visiting the UK also need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel; you apply online and it takes a few minutes.
Don’t book your flights yet unless you want to. We’ll send flight guidance in the spring, so everyone arrives in London on the morning of Friday 1 October and can take the same train north.

Know someone who should come too?
The first thing most people do after booking is text a friend. If there’s a reader in your life who’d love this, send her the trip page. There are only eight places, and it’s nicer to arrive knowing one of them already.

See you in Yorkshire.
Eight spots. Wine in the ruins. One of them is yours.
